Henna- Asian Women's Group: Healthy lifestyles

  • Weight Concern were invited to talk to a local Asian Women's Group (Henna) about healthy eating and activity.
  • Our dietician worked with the women to modify traditional South Asian recipes, showing how it was possible to significantly reduce levels of saturated fat and salt in cooking, without changing the taste.
  • Ghee was substituted for smaller quantities of olive oil or rapeseed oil and low fat dairy products were used instead of full fat cream.
  • A volunteer from the group cooked the recipes for the rest of the group and they were thoroughly enjoyed!
